POT : Protocol Oriented Testing

www.emc-partner.com

The TEMA software for controlling our pulse- and emc-generators as well as the HARCS software for controlling the Harmonics-1000 have both very sophisticated protocol engines.

The control software collects and stores all accessible data during a test run. Because all data is always available you can choose the content of your protocol at any time. The protocol is a HTML file with text, tables and graphics. Furthermore the protocol contains a link to the original report data and test-setup. By a simple mouse-click on the associated filename in the protocol, the TEMA or HARCS software is started and you get the report and set-up behind the protocol which allows you to make changes or run the test again.

Example:
You want to make an EMC test. First you open a protocol template or an protocol from a previous test in your word-processor. (e.g. Microsoft Winword or any other program which can edit HTML). If necessary you make any changes in your protocol template. Then you start the related tests by clicking on the associated filenames in the protocol. (Hypertext Link) After the test you get the new test data in the protocol.

OLE:

The HARCS software can also connect to documents with OLE.(Object Linking and Embedding)

Example how to make a new protocol under Winword:
-- Open the WINWORD program
-- Open a formatted document with the firm logo etc.
-- Place the Cursor where the table or graph should be
-- Activate EMC PARTNER HARCS. under the menue "Insert Object". The HARCS program will be placed as object into the Winword document.
-- Select all parameter and carry out the measurement.
-- When test is over, close the HARCS with the menue "Return to document". Store the Winword document regularly.
-- When other test / measurements are needed place further objects into the same document.
