The legally precribed test requirements for EMC standards in the EU were issued by CENELEC, the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization. These are called the Generic Standards. They are EN 50081, which covers the standards for emission in the residential, commercial and light industrial environment (EN 50081-1), and the industrial environment (EN 50081-2). EN 50082 covers the standards for immunity in the residential, commercial and light industrial environment (EN 50082-1) and the industrial environment.
The generic standards apply to products for which no dedicated product-family standards exists. If a product or product-family standard exists, it takes the place of the generic standards in prescribing the test requirements. The generic standards outline the test requirements. They refer to the Basic Standards to define the tests to be performed, the test methods, the test setup and the specification of the generator.
The Protocol Template is a Microsoft Word document : Report EN 50082-2.doc
You have also a PDF copy in case you dont have an Microsoft Word or to see how the final document looks after setting up the references and running the sequences : Report EN 50082-2.pdf
The Report is an example protocol of an EN 50082-2 test procedure on a multimeter. It ca easily be adapted to your actual EUT ( Equipment Under Test ). All Text which is subjected to change is colored in blue.
The Test Sequences are TEMA setups :
| . | TEMA setup | Example |
| EFT ( IEC 61000-4-4 ) | SETUP | HTML |
| ESD ( IEC 61000-4-2 ) | SETUP | HTML |
| Surge ( IEC 61000-4-5 ) | SETUP | HTML |
| DIP ( IEC 61000-4-11 ) | SETUP | HTML |
| . | . | . |
This has to be done only after a new installation or update of the Test-Procedures database.
The import references inside the Word document are absolut pathes and so refer to the
directory whrere you have installed TEMA on your computer. Actually the references in the
documents are "c:\\Programme\\Test-Manager".
They have to be changes according your installation, e.g. "c:\\Program
Files\\EMC-Partner\\Test-Manager"
