Multi function Damped Oscillatory Wave (DOW) generator

Compact generator for Damped Oscillatory Wave testing. Integrated three phase CDN for Slow and Fast waves. Magnetic Field output for 1m or 2m coil. Can be extended with insulation test impulses up to 8 kV.

Electronic measurement and control equipment in the energy distribution network can be susceptible to environmental disturbances caused by switching action or atmospheric lightning. Busbar switching causes an energy flow between contacts that develops on connected cables into an oscillatory wave. The frequency of oscillation is determined by physical characteristics of the switching yard. Air insulated switchgear generates lower frequencies than gas insulated components. DOW-CG1 is a test generator that can be configured for Slow Wave, Fast Wave, Impulse voltage test or any combination of all three. This is an optimum solution with cost efficient capabilities for a wide spectrum of users. The unique system includes an integrated 32A three phase coupler for direct injection of Slow and Fast waves onto AC or DC power lines. DOW-CG1 is the first tester of its type to integrate a 1.2/50 us 0.5J impulse that is also required for product standard testing. The modern user interface with clear menu structure including graphic and contextual help functions make operation easy and efficient.
