MIG1212CAP is a 12 kV compact impulse generator with high voltage terminals on top. It generates a 1.2/50µs voltage impulse capable of testing X1, X2, Y2 and Y4 type capacitors.

MIG1212CAP is specially designed for insulation testing of X / Y capacitors with impulse voltage approximate 1,2/50 μs up to 12 kV in accordance with IEC 60384-14 Ed.4. The MIG1212CAP comprises two circuits with impulse capacitance 20 μF and 0,25 μF all housed in an 8 unit high 19" rack. IEC 60384-14 and EN 132400 define the generator requirements. The serial resistors (Rs), the impulse capacitor (Ct), and the load capacitance (Cp) are automatically switched according to the selected capacitor range. A multiplexer enables automatic selection of test capacitors inside the TC-ST test cabinet on top of the MIG1212CAP. Impulse peak voltage and current are indicated on the front panel display. Two BNC monitors enable the voltage and current waveshapes to be verified on an oscilloscope.
