MIL-STD-461 CS116 special frequencies & CS06
MIL-STD-461 CS116 special frequencies and CS06 voltage spikes
MIL-STD-461G specifies six fixed frequencies (10kHz, 100kHz, 1MHz, 10MHz, 30MHz, 100MHz) which experience has shown represent the most common resonances resulting from external energy sources interacting with cable bundles. The need to test with additional frequencies has been removed from the latest MIL-STD-461 version.
A particular aspect of MIL-STD-461 is that old versions are valid for the duration equipment re-mains in service. Some older versions of MIL-STD-461, used the CS114 test to determine a system resonant frequency which was then applied using CS116 test procedures. To accommodate special cases requiring frequencies other than the six standard, EMC PARTNER AG offer modules custom tuned in the range 10kHz to 30MHz.
The MIL-STD-461C version includes voltage spike tests for all three services that are not present in current MIL-STD-461 versions. In total, three spikes are required to meet the CS06 test. These are performed using the MIL3-SPIKE (5µs), MIL3-SPIKE-SLOW (10µs) and MIL3-SPIKE-FAST (0.15µs) mod-ules together with the MIL3000 mainframe.
